Prunus serotina
The forest of North America including the USA and into Canada are home to Cherry trees. However, it is common knowledge that some of the finest Cherry grows in Pennsylvania and south into West Virginia. Cherry veneer is versatile and can be easily stained and finished making it one of North America’s finest hardwoods. The veneer produced from Cherry trees yields a range of figure types ranging from plain to highly figured logs. In certain specimens the logs can produce rustic or character marked veneer and lumber. North American Cherry “Wild Cherry” should not be confused with the fruit bearing Cherry trees found in orchards.
