Red Grandis Supplier
Uruguay is located in South America along the Atlantic Coastline just south of Brazil. It is in this small country of around 3.5 million people, and this is where the beautiful RED GRANDIS comes from. RED GRANDIS grows in plantations owned and managed by COFUSA. These plantations are sustainably managed and located in the deep, sandy soils of Northeast Uruguay where the annual rainfall exceeds 65 inches.
To guarantee the production of high-quality wood for both veneer and lumber, the effort begins at the nursery, with the Tree Improvement Program. The program’s objective is to improve Eucalyptus grandis tree growth and performance in these forest plantations. In order to achieve these goals, COFUSA uses carefully selected trees that have been improved over generations by utilizing a vegetative reproductive technology.
URUFOR processes the logs from COFUSA’S plantations in its own sawmill for the production only the highest quality lumber.
Becks Grove Veneer team members travel to the plantation and carefully select the best logs to be sliced into the veneer we offer our clients. Our relationship with COFUSA and URUFOR has been developed over the years to where we’ve become a trusted provider of RED GRANDIS. Becks Grove Veneer ships RED GRANDIS logs from COFUSA to the United States where these logs are carefully produced into FSC 100% RED GRANDIS veneer.
Becks Grove Veneer is currently offering RED GRANDIS veneer in Flat Cut, Quarters/Rift and special thicknesses including 1.50 mm quarters. In addition, we are offering boules cut into 3” thick slabs for table tops and/or other architectural purposes.
